Libre de s’attaquer au vaste problème du “sujet”. Que, et quoi traiter sur une toile ? doit il représenter le réel, l’imaginaire ? L’artiste nous propose des sujets étonnants mêlant représentation réelle et fiction qui, avec les peintres Belges, Michael Borremans et Robert Devriendt créent un genre nouveau.

This young French painter, masters so perfectly the technique of oil painting that he is freed from any constraints.

That mastery in painting gives him the room to tackle the vast problem of the “subject” in order to renew the European painting. Which subject would work on a canvas? Must it represent the real, the imaginary? 

This is with that bunch of questions in mind that the artist ended up to propose surprising subjects, mixing real representation and fiction to create a special mood to his own imagery. This is the kind of intriguing universe we find also in Belgian painters, Michael Borremans and Robert Devriendt.
